their creative talents by the beauty
of the surrounding countryside. The
Ōpōtiki Youth Mural Project is
called Y.A.P.P. Youth Art in Public
Places and is overseen by the Ōpōtiki
Childrens Art House. This is a
Blue Light and Ministry of Social
Development project. A map of the
murals is available in the book which
is at the Museum.

Centre in King Street, was originally
the Salvation Army Barracks built in 1898. It has undergone an extensive restoration and is
now used as a gallery and venue for other arts events Members meet weekly on Tuesdays and
Wednesdays to paint. Visitors and new members are welcome. The Centre is available for hire.
