SKATING
Ōpōtiki Skate Park is located in Potts Avenue, behind the town centre. Lights until 9pm
winter & 10pm Summer. There are many Skate Parks around the region, including
Whakatāne, Ōhope, Te Araroa, Tokomaru Bay, Tolaga Bay, Gisborne, Wairoa & Napier.

Ōpōtiki Surf Lifesaving Club has
voluntary patrols fron the end of
November until the end of February
and paid Life Guards from 26th THINGS TO SEE & DO IN OUR REGION
December to 30th January. Contact

Clubs around the regions coastline
including Ōhope Beach, Wainui
Beach, Waikanae & Midway in
Gisborne, and Westshore & Pacific
in Napier. With 3 Surf Clubs in Gisborne - competition

SURFING
Throughout the East Cape
Region great surfing
locations abound. Near
Ōpōtiki, Waiotahe and
Tirohanga beaches offer
good beginners waves.
Further down, Hawai and
Hicks Bay provide some
good surf, while around
at Gisborne, Makorori,
Wainui & Waikanae
beaches cater for all grades
of surfer.
SWIMMING POOL
Ō pōtiki College and
Community Pool is open
